Almond Poppy-Seed Bread


This is what my girls lovingly refer to as "treat bread".  Not only does it taste delicious, it fills the house with a wonderful aroma while it's baking.



Recipe:

3 C flour
2 1/4 C sugar
1/4 C poppy seeds
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp salt

3 eggs
1 1/2 C milk
1 C vegetable oil
1 1/2 tsp almond extract (don't cheat on this)
1 1/2 tsp vanilla

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees

Mix together the ingredients listed above.  The dry ingredients in a large bowl, and the wet in a medium-sized bowl. 

Once they are well mixed, combine the wet ingredients with the dry in the large bowl.

Stir together, making sure the batter is nice and smooth.

Poor the batter evenly into two loaf pans.

Bake for about 40 minutes.
