Triple Chocolate Oreo Cookes

These cookies are so chocolate-y delicious!  I prefer darker chocolate cocoa, (dutch is best) and the cookies need to be pressed down to their desired shape since they don't spread much while they cook.  This recipe makes about 2 1/2 dozen cookies.  Perfect for those holiday cookie exchanges coming up!

Recipe:

1 C butter flavored shortening
1 1/2 C sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/4 C flour
1/2 C unsweetened cocoa
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 1/4 C chocolate chips
12-15 oreos, crushed
3/4 C white chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.  Lightly grease baking sheets and set aside.

In a medium bowl, cream together the shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla until smooth.  Mix in the flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt.  Mix until combined.  Stir in chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, and oreos.

Scoop out in balls with about 2 Tbsp of dough.  Press down gently into desired cookie thickness.

Bake for 8-11 minutes.  Allow to cool 10 minutes before removing to wire cooling rack.
