Cinnamon Roll Cake
In our family, we LOVE cinnamon rolls. I have tried a few different recipes but haven't yet found the perfect one- and I don't know about you, but I find the making of cinnamon rolls to just be a bit tedious- wait for the dough to rise, roll it out, coat with cinnamon mixture... let rise again...
This recipe is so much easier! I fell in love the first time I made it. Perfectly cinnamon-y with a delicious glaze that you just pour on top at the end. Wonderful.
Recipe:
Cake:
3 C Flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 C sugar
4 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 C milk
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
1/2 C melted butter
Mix above ingredients together except melted butter. Then stir in melted butter slowly and gently- it shouldn't be completely mixed in, but swirled around fairly well.
Pour into greased 9x13 baking pan.
Topping:
1 C butter, softened
1 C brown sugar
2 Tbsp flour
1 Tbsp cinnamon
Mix together the topping ingredients and then drop in spoonfuls onto the cake batter. Use a knife to swirl around the cake.
Bake at 350 for 28-32 minutes.
Glaze:
2 C powdered sugar
5 Tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla
When cake comes out of the oven, drizzle the glaze on top while it's warm.
